What changes across rows: The clock speed. The substrate. The vocabulary.

Convergent solutions: Consolidation showed the pipeline converges on the Transformer architecture. That was one row’s evidence. The tables add fifty-eight more. The same pattern appears wherever the constraint appears. A narrow basin of convergent solutions: systems under finite capacity with selection pressure arrive at the same six-step shape. The timescale is irrelevant. The steps are not.

Nature solved it: The immune system runs all six steps with no central coordinator. Evolution runs bright filter, attend, and consolidate despite dim perceive and structure, and it works over megayears.

Linked lists

The rows link forward. Each Transmit is a pointer to another row’s Perceive. Here are chains we found.

The creative chain: neurons → cognition → writing → publishing → reading → cognition (loop). Cortical storage becomes what you perceive on screen. Publishing becomes what you read as research. The backlist becomes a book a reader opens. Output becomes input.

The career chain: birth → school (broken) → college (broken) → hiring (broken) → promotion → prestige. Each node’s dim cells compound into the next. School’s filter has no competitive inhibition (age-based promotion). College’s attend is GET * (GPA, no diversity across skills). Hiring inherits unstructured inputs. Dim cells propagate across nodes, not just downstream within a row.

The knowledge chain: science → curricula → education → cognition → writing → science (loop). Papers consolidate into textbooks. Textbooks become curricula. Curricula shape what students perceive. Students become researchers who observe new phenomena. The loop closes.

The infrastructure chain: evolution → neurons → cognition → writing code → computation → inference → agent → writing code (loop). The genome encodes the brain. The brain writes code. Code runs on hardware. Hardware runs inference. Inference powers agents. Agents write more code.

The medicine chain: science → clinical trials → prescribing → therapy → changed behavior. Papers become hypotheses. Approved drugs become options on the formulary. The patient record becomes the therapist’s intake.

The story chain: oral tradition → mythology → religion → law. Tales become myths. Myths become doctrine. Doctrine becomes canon law. Canon law becomes common law. The longest chain in the list: four domains from campfire to courtroom.

The book chain: oral tradition → translation → publishing → librarianship → education → cognition (loop). The myth gets translated. The translation gets published. The book gets shelved. The student opens it.

The evidence chain: forensics → law → precedent → law school → practice (loop). The forensic report enters the courtroom. The decision becomes precedent. Precedent becomes curriculum. Curriculum shapes the next lawyer’s practice.

The land chain: cartography → urban planning → architecture → the built city. The map becomes the zoning plan. The plan constrains the architect. The building constrains the next map.

The seed chain: gardening ↔ seed breeding (loop). The seed library feeds the breeder’s trial plots. The new cultivar feeds next year’s garden. The shortest chain in the list: two nodes, one loop.

The record chain: journalism → documentary. The archive becomes the source material. The released film becomes what the next journalist perceives as context.

Any composable unit of competition for selection works this way. Thirty-six rows here, twenty-four in the main post, and there are always more.
